Atletico Madrid has finally finished the Arda Turan transfer deal. The Turkish national midfielder had been bid for about €13 million or just the same with Rp. 158,6 billion by Los Colchoneros from Galatasaray. The 24-year-old midfielder has signed for four year contract in Vicente Calderon, the Atletico home stadium.

The deal is completed after Turan went to medical check-up in the capitol city of Spain on Friday (12/8), just right after Galatasaray’s claim which agreed Atletico’s fee on Tuesday (9/8). Atletico transferred the €12 million cash to Galatasaray and will give the rest for €1 million based on the bonus of Turan’s performance. Turan has been targeted by Atletico for so long time and is hoped to be the bridge between the back field and the front of the Gregorio Manzano’s squad.

The New Point Scoring System For 2011

NASCAR officials shook up how races are scored for 2011. Uruguay follows Argentina, Colombia and Chile trace, qualified to the quarter finale of Copa America 2011 because of 1-0 winning from Mexico in the last match of Group C, Wednesday (13/7/2011).

With the addition of three points, Uruguay stays in second position of the last classement in Group C with five points. They moved Peru that lost in previous match with 0-1 score from Chile, to the third position with four points.

Required to win to be qualified, Uruguay played by giving pressure since the beginning. They succeed to score when the first half time match just started for 14 minutes.

Free kick from Diego Forlan could still be saved by Mexico goalkeeper, Luis Michel. But, the free ball was successfully used by Alvaro Pereira who was in the right position for scoring. With good calm, this Uruguay full back player kicked the ball to the unguided goal post.

Eto’o Incident with Cesar

Samuel Eto’o already asked for apology to several sides after the hitting incident to Boasthan Cesar. But the strange this is that Eto’o did not include any specific apology to his victim. The violation were done by Eto’o to Cesar when Inter was competing with Chievo last weekend. During the game, the Inter defender attacked and hit the opponents’ chest. The incident missed the referee’s incident so Eto’o did not get any penalty when the game was on. But after, he still gets suspended and must pay a fine. In the process, Eto’o saying regrets for the inappropriate act. The Cameroon player did it through a statement from his agent.

“I would like to state my deepest apology to everyone that was shocked by my bad manner last week in Verona.” Said Eto’o.

In the apology statement which is reported by Reuters, Eto’o did not mention specifically of Cesar directly, who is his victim. Cesar himself still waits for Eto’o personal apology to him.

“My apology is for the protagonist figures in the game, to the referee that may not seen the violation because it was out of their views, but also to all of Inter fans and to all of the people that love soccer.”

Charlie Francis, Ben Johnson’s Coach Dies at 61

Very long time ago in 1988 when Olympics were held in Seoul, there is one name that famous and was a being a hot topic which consider as the fastest man in the world. He was the first man who reaches the finish line in one of the athletic series, of 100m sprint, he is Ben Johnson. He was a Canadian sprinter. He received a gold medal.

But unfortunately not too long after the euphoria, public were shocked from the news reported that Ben Johnson has actually cheated in that Olympic event. He used steroids in order to make him able to run very fast. The Olympic committee found from his urine that he has consumed this banned drug before this event held. Ben Johnson then was obliged to give back the medal and considered to be a disgraced attitude.

Ben Johnson was influenced by his coach, Charlie Francis to misuse the steroid before the competition. It was reported that on May 12, 2010 Charlie Francis has died after five years suffered from cancer. He died in Toronto hospital. Other Canadian athletes was coached by Francis were Tim Montgomery and Marion Jones. They were also fall into cheating cases of using steroids.
