business economy - china, agriculturalChina calls on rich countries to remove agricultural subsidies and providing greater market access for developing countries.

agriculture is one of the biggest points in free trade talks in Doha, with developed countries seeking greater access to markets of developing countries and developing countries sharply criticized the support of rich countries to the agricultural sector.

"all countries should refuse to join the trade protectionism in all forms and manifestations and to encourage a positive outcome from the Doha Round negotiations," Xinhua said, quoting China's deputy prime minister, liangyu hui.

hui urged developed countries to cut agricultural subsidies, remove trade barriers and providing greater market access for developing countries.

He called on developed countries and international organizations to provide financial assistance, technology, markets and capacity building assistance to developing countries.

china intended to meet about 95% of the consumption of food grains, although some time ago made an effort to try to self-sufficiency in soybean oil used for cooking as well as animal feed.
